The
wiseDX has a built in infrared transmitter that will give the user remote
control over their environment

This is in the form of a small circuit board housed within the Display unit of the wiseDX. It is completely integrated with the workings of the wiseDX and will provide the user with remote access to hundreds of infrared based devices - using the switch(es) or joystick that is being used to drive the chair. It can 'learn' the infrared signals of most other existing hand held remotes. The infrared module is actually a third party item called the PROG III from a Swedish company called GEWA. The PROG III is sold in various versions, the most common being a 'stand alone' hand held version with buttons on the front (pictured top left). Essentially they all work the same. This company make a range of environmental control systems which are available through GEWA UK - part of the Possum group. Since the PROG III is a 'learnable' transmitter it will work with a whole range of equipment, including most household remotes, and is not confined to work with just GEWA products. GEWA provide a 'Utility' programme that will enable you to 'teach' the PROG III inside the wiseDX infrared signals from other devices. |
