For
some people their joystick control is just about OK to drive a powered
chair but not accurate enough to operate a computer or a communication
aid - as a joystick. These people may like the joystick to behave as a
discrete switch (say when pushing forward) or as a few discrete switches
when not driving. They would then be able to operate switch-scanning programmes
on a computer or a communication aid with the wheelchair's joystick.
Furthermore
the wiseDX will enable infrared environmental control to be used
(already built into the unit) with the joystick acting as a switch.
